Men's Short Rise Pants
To order the perfect pair of pants, you need to understand a few basic terms. Things like waist size and inseam are common knowledge for most people, but ‘rise’ is a term you may not be familiar with. At Berle, we offer three rise options on many of our pants—short, regular, and low (S, R, and L)—to make sure our customers get the perfect fit each and every time. Shop men’s short rise pants today!
What is Short Rise?
In the clothing world, the word rise refers to the distance between the waist and the crotch on a pair of pants or shorts. Typically, a pair of men’s slacks will feature a rise of approximately 11’’. This works well for most men who are 5’10’’ and taller. However, that rise doesn’t necessarily work for shorter men, which is where short rise pants come into the picture. With a shorter rise—somewhere around 9’’—the pants should be more comfortable and look better as well.
Not the Same as Low Rise
Short rise and low rise might sound like they mean the same thing, but that is not the case. Short rise pants have a shorter distance between the crotch and waist, but they are still designed to be worn at the waist. With low rise pants, the garment is designed to sit lower on the body. Either of these options might be best for you, but it’s important to note that they are not the same thing.
